As the year comes to an end many of us are thinking about what goals we want to achieve in 2022. Some may decide to create resolutions in one form or another. Though I am not a resolution type person anymore, I am a goal oriented person. I believe in setting goals so that I can mentally align my thoughts with the path I would like to more forward on.

With that said, it would be arrogant for me to assume that everyone knows how to do that and knows how to do it effectively. We all have our own styles. Some of them work well and some of them we may need to tweak. Whatever your style and whether you call them resolutions or you call them goals the key thing is to have something to aspire to that makes you happy, (hopefully wealthy) and fulfilled along the way.

When children are raised towards adulthood parents have a great deal of responsibility teaching them so many things. As adults we forget how many things parents have to do and tend to focus on the things they did not do or the things they did not teach us. They are imperfect as are we. The great thing is we get to connect with one another and help each other learn things we didn’t previously know or remind us of things we forgot.

Goal setting as simple as it seems requires real intentionality. It requires discipline. It requires having a realistic mindset to be sure the goals you are setting are attainable and sensible for you. That is not to say to limit yourself, yet it is to say think about what you have to help in place to get to your goals and add tools including coaches, therapists and even ducation along the way.

In the new year I wish you the best. My gift to you in this spirit is the gift of HOPE! I hope both with and for you. I have created an infographic that I wanted to share with others. The HOPE is that something on this infographic will be a help to you as you navigate your goals. Be well. Be safe. Be kind to yourself. And choose happiness!
